Pearl Care
Keep in mind that jewelry in general is precious and delicate, so handle it with care!
Pearls require special care because they are very vulnerable to scratching. Moreover, pearls' outer layer consists of organic soft material called nacre, so anything that is harmful to organic materials should be avoided. Here are some simple tips to keep your pearls looking stunning!
-
Put your pearls on last and take them off first. If you apply skin/hair products, fragrances, etc. to yourself, do that before wearing your pearls. Conversely, when undressing, make sure to remove your pearl jewelry first.
-
After wearing your pearls, gently wipe them with a clean soft cloth to remove oils and perspiration.
-
Avoid wearing your jewelry when wet, although the pearls come from the ocean, the rest of the jewelry does not. So any gold, or silk thread will be damaged when wet.
-
Pearls naturally need moisture, so do not store them in airtight containers. Simply keeping it in its jewelry box or some type of cloth bag/pouch helps ensure that your jewelry does not tangle and maintains the pearls over time.
-
Again, first and foremost, the pearls are fine jewelry so handle with care and try not to perform strenuous activities while wearing them.
