Pearl Grading system can range from company to company. We try to be as clear and honest with the grading system. Typically, we will grade luster from AAAA to A. Additionally, we will grade the skin from clean to small to medium to heavily blemished.

Pearl Skin
Heavily Blemished
The Pearl Skin will have major spots, marks, or blemishes that are easily eye visible. No clean faces. Typically, this quality will be used in commercial jewelry.
Medium Blemished
The Pearl Skin will have a medium amount of spots, marks, or blemishes that are easily visible, but will be less scattered around the pearl surface. This quality may have a few clean faces on the pearl.
Small Blemished
The Pearl Skin will have very minor spots, marks, or blemishes that are not easily eye visible. This quality will have several clean faces where the blemishes will be like small freckles or dimples on the surface of the pearl skin.
Clean
The Pearl Skin will be very clean and smooth with very few freckle like blemishes on the surface of the skin. This surface will be almost completely free from blemishes and would be considered gem quality and used only in the finest jewelry.
